Hurstville railway station opened in 1884 and was historically the terminus of the Illawarra line, and the town centre grew up around it. A lot of what got built nearby afterwards shares a similar pattern: two and three storey brick walk-up blocks, no lift, units stacked around a shared stairwell. Many date from the interwar and postwar era, and that history still shapes the plumbing behind the walls today.
Four things that come up regularly in this suburb.
Emergency callouts are still available (see our Emergency Plumber page), but most of our Hurstville work is scheduled maintenance, not a rushed fix.
